Took my brother out on a rare day off (for him). We started fishing about 7am. We netted our first fish shortly afterwards.
We located several schools of fish that filled up our screen.
We hooked 2 fat pike minnows hunting the outskirts of the schools. Once the pike minnows moved in, the schools moved out.
Locating fish again took another hour. Finding fish that would take our offerings was something completely different. Logic would say that presentation should be above most fish. Not! We found that willing biters were underneath the majority of holding fish.
Colors and patterns were all over the spectrum. Green, white, multicolored, black, and a bare hook produced fish. Pink, orange and red failed. We put the downriggers away once we discovered that after one pass, they moved off. We found fish mostly in 75fow.
Be aware that there are wild fish in this system and must be released.
These fish are healthy and cut red.
