The only thing the day was short on was the big fish. We had a ball catching small and medium/sandwich size trout and bass but never found the lunkers. But that's okay as we had a great day catching and releasing 67.

We fished 11-4:30 with cloudy skies (love it when the sun stays away), 5-10 mph winds, 63 water temp and 63 air temp. We had the lake all to ourselves the first few hours and even later the entire park was without many visitors. It's always rewarding to us to see youngin's fishing and a boy, perhaps10 was fishing by himself and told us of all the spots he'd tried yesterday and today. He asked what we'd caught and was using for bait, etc. He'll have a good life as he seems content to fish by himself. Reminds me of me.

Today we took lunch ashore and enjoyed the lunchmeat and coleslaw we'd brought. But we treated ourselves to Lopez Island Ice Cream at the concession stand for desert.

The catch and release body count was high today. Me, 33 = 3 trout, 30 bass (and though we didn't take photos of all the fish, I claim the largest bass and trout). P, 23 = 2 trout, 2 sunfish. 19 bass, and K, 11 = 3 trout, 1 sun fish , 7 bass. We all lost a bunch of fish and many hits that didn't connect. But more painful is losing lures and wondering what got them. K and I each lost a good lure. We each found ourselves in the weeds or a tree but teamwork rescued the lure/line. And luckily K's lure that wopped me on the head and stuck into my hat did no further damage than us having to cut a tine off a treble hook. My hat has a battles car.

We had a lot of laughs and was grateful for Wednesday humpday away from the office and on the lake. Thank you Fish Gods.
