I went out to explore the lake Cushman area and do some hiking and fishing. After hiking I got on the water about 1:00 which is probably the worst time there is to go fishing. After paddling for about 3 hours I was on my way back to the car when I got hit by a big fish. After fighting with it a bit, and my little pole bending in half, I finally pulled out a big rainbow trout. My estimate is he was about 17-18 inches and 2-3 pounds, he felt very heavy for a trout and my little rig couldn't lift him out of the water (4.5 foot 8$ pole and a 1000 series shimano reel). Conditions were perfect except for the time of day, I assume morning and evening would be much better fishing.
