Finally, made the annual trip to Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River to target Shad in the middle of the month of June. I fished on the Washington State side below Bonneville Dam. The weather was not ideal, but managed to hook up some. The best bite was in the morning and weens off after 1PM. I was using 8’6” salmon rod with a spinning reel, Shad Darts, 10 lbs. mono with 3-5 ft. of 8 lbs. mono leader. 1/2-1oz weight.
