Just started fishing about a year ago and decided to take my kayak to Beaver Lake on a cool and cloudy July morning around 6:30 AM. Water was very calm and I anchored down near a small bed of lily pads across from the boat launch area. Within 2 hours or so, I landed around 25-30 yellow perch using small chunks of nightcrawlers while bottom fishing, as well as a 6 inch pumpkinseed sunfish. The yellow perch were consistently around 7-10 inches. I also noticed some trout surfacing but they stopped around 9:00 AM. The rest of the morning I paddled around to different parts of the lake but no luck after my first haul.
