My son Adam took me fishing (I only caught 1) while he did the catching. This is the first time he has fished on Alder. We came years ago but the level was too low for launching my boat so we went to Mineral instead.

The water temperature was 74. It was cloudy and humid but the slight breeze helped cool me down.
We were there from 7am-11:30am but fishing from 7:30 to 11:00.
We went from 45 to 15 feet on downrigger with 30-15 being the most productive but there were jumpers therefore, surface dwellers. We used corn for bait. Our speed was 1.1 to 1.6 mph.

The lake was at 1,199.46 feet of elevation (maximum of 1,207 ft).

5 kokanee had intact adipose fins while 1 was without. The biggest was 14 inches. My son caught the most and I caught the smallest.
Interesting note was a helicopter that flew by extremely low. Below tree line after passing us.

Chrisdeadly Yes there were fish from the surface down to about 45 feet. Only a few bites, comparably. With the depth and murky water I couldn't see what fish were there. I can when the water is clearer.

Thank you for the reply! I've just started really t a rgeting kokanee on alder, last weekend I was able to get 3, is the bite off because of the time of year? Does it get better? It's very frustrating seeing that solid line of fish and not getting any bites!
