A little late on the report but better now then never I guess. Me and the family made a trip to one of our favorite Seeps Lake over in Eastern Washington. We usually go camping there around June/July but decided to go early this year(May). Weather wasn't too bad, cold clear skies in the early mornings, but usually warms up around noon and even warmer in the later evening, and back to cold when the sun goes down. We slept in and didn't bother waking up too early since it was still a little chilly, and started fishing once we were all awake and ready to leave the comfort of our tent. I found a great spot for bank fishing especially since I had the kids with me and my Siberian husky who can be just as a handful as the kids. We had micro fishing set-ups which I love using for targeting everything pretty much from bass, to panfish, and anything thats willing to bite especially trout since they were made for trout fishing. Hence its given name, the "trout Magnet". The great thing I love about this lure is I never have a fish fully swallow this lure, especially micro fishing. Almost every fish I catch is hooked perfectly for a great CATCH AND RELEASE! I live by the trout magnet lure since I use to bottom fish with just weights/bobbers and hooks and had more fish die from swallowing the hooks from not paying attention and letting sit too long. with the trout magnet I can feel the fish bite the lure, and I set the hook RIGHT away! I micro fish exactly like I do bass fishing, which is active fishing and involves constant casting and retrieving, until I feel a bite and set hook right away! just my 2 cents(opinion) from what I've experienced lake fishing.

Anyways we saw lots of big carp jumping all around us. Must be that time of year, "spawning season" so I decided to throw some good ol corn on a bottom fishing rig that I've caught carp on before. Ive had Carp,Catfish, and even a big rainbow trout bite the corn from past fishing/camping trips which I thought was odd since corn is grown on land lol.

We ended up figuring out the perfect bottom rig set-up which landed us 8 more carp weighing between 10-20 pounds each. We know carp is not the most favorite when it comes to table-fare but boy they were ALOT of fun fighting them with 4-8 pound line with a perfect drag set. I think Carp fishing is Super Under-rated especially fishing for them which is strange especially since they are EVERYWHERE now and taking over a lot of waters in WA sate. Next I would like to try Bow-fishing for them next! Fish on!
