Mike and I enjoyed a glorious October day on Potholes. First stop yielded a largemouth for Mike on a jig and I caught 2 gills and a bullhead on a dropshot. Then we went trolling. We didn't catch our first eye till 0900. Green and gold blades worked well in the morning and by noon green and blue blades were the ticket. 8 to 20 FOW on the face of the dunes was where we spent the day. 30+ eyes, some stud perch and a few bluegills. I cleaned 14 nice eaters. I released a nice 24 incher that hit in 6 FOW. The water was up a couple of more feet since last weekend. Although the water is up, the eyes seem to be holding on the same structure as a month ago. Several of the eyes were stuffed with 3/4 inch baby bluegills. Makes sense why Mike was having such good luck with a blue blade.
