Rufus, Rufus, Rufus you vex me. Took a trip to Rufus today. Saw the weather for the weekend and decided to take a vacation day and enjoy the sunshine. Cold start for Jay and me. I only fish Rufus once or twice in the spring and for the third year in a row it was tough fishing. We caught 1 whitefish, 2 small trout and 3 nice eyes. We found the eyes down near the net pens right as the current died, so did the bite. Only thing I could get them to hit was a black jig with a 3.5 inch Yum summer gill swimbait. I gave it a 2 because I really enjoy the experience. Seeing eagles, otters and a beaver along with the weather made the day worth the trip. The Arm is still very muddy so Rufus was the alternate.
