My son Adam and I launched out of Point Defiance and started fishing about 9am. It was an outgoing tide; high was at 6:59 AM 11.1 feet and the low was 1:13 PM at 0.5 feet. The weather was great if you like hot! It was going to be in the upper 80’s. There was a slight breeze which helped but I brought 2 battery operated fans just in case! We were by the slag pile/yacht club from 9-11.
I got a hit and reeled in a hatchery coho first then in the next hour Adam got his which he said he thought it would fight more. Kids ;) I was so happy he got his.
I had to use the restroom and we started to get ready to go in. Adam asked why don’t we quit. Since I was working on sleep deprived, I agreed. I was disappointed to not go casting for Pinks but glad by the time I got home. I fileted the fish and put one on the grill to go with Adams home grown corn. By the time he was done cleaning the boat we were going to have a late lunch.
We trolled with Wannafish A Lures’ tipped with squid. Trying to keep the speed between 2.5 to 3.5 mph.
Pictures and video from both Adam and I.
