Finally got to get the Hobie out on Vashon after area 11 opened up again on August 1st. Fortunately, the pinks are still here and there's a fair number of them in Colvos Passage. Launched out of the beach access on Cross Landing Road south of Lisabuela Park on Vashon, and was able to get into the pinks fairly quickly on both Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday I hooked into a large male hatchery King that was in spawning colors of at least 10 pounds, which unfortunately had to be released. It was caught in only 80 feet of water. Pedal kayaks like the Hobie Outback are perfect for targeting pinks as well as Coho. Since there have been few pink reports written for this area recently, here is some of the gear I used:

Downrigger setup:
Hot Spot 11" flasher pink haze (the best flasher for pinks)
3 inch pink hoochie 25 inches behind flasher
Laketroller downrigger (normally this is only used for Kokanee fishing)

Diver setup:
Pro-Troll 8 inch flasher jellyfish pattern
3 inch hoochie 16 inches behind flasher
Double Deep Six Diver
