Took Mike out with me again to the Arm. We fished the same areas as last Saturday and after moving around a bit we located some eyes. Jigging raps were once again the ticket and Mike was putting on a how to clinic on vertically jigging jigging raps. Mike actually gets a 6 star day. We boated 76 eyes and Mike caught about 50 of those. About 10 of those were 4 inches long, the rest were between 12 and 23 inches long. We only cleaned 10 that were between 16 and 20 inches. If we had been keeping 14 inches and up we could have easily cleaned 32. Our best spot produced 40 eyes. The area was about 25 square yards and was not an area we fished last weekend. It pays to move around and try different areas. These eyes were all hanging at the bottom of a deep channel edge. We would cast up shallow and hop our jigging raps in to the deeper water. By 1230 we were both done. 6 hours of jigging raps will smoke your forearms. We need to eat some spinach to get those Popeye arms. You can see in the photo they were eating perch and crawdads.
