One son had to work but the other went out on my boat with me. He of course, caught the fish. Which, he told me, is what always happens. Or at least that is what I understood him to say. Being as we also got into the discussion of the meaning of “Skunked”. I decline being skunked since I had one on and had a bite, he gave me his two fish and I have 3 hours of video to watch. ?
We had a storm predicted to come in that evening. But it delayed until Sunday. It was pretty warm for a cloudy day. Later it did get up to 70.

The water was still 59 which it was on May 19th when I was there last.

We trolled for about an hour before my son got a bite. I didn’t know it but a catfish followed my downrigger line/lure for a minute, within 2 minutes of putting it down. I thought I only had 1 bite and 1 fish on but I had a few more than I saw.

My son wanted to go look at a place he kayaked to last year so that is where we went trolling to. I had never fished there before. We were there from 8am to 11. The lake level was at 1200.4 feet. Adam got the first fish in. He got it at 26 feet on the downrigger but he had switched from regular shoepeg corn and a piece of nightcrawler. To a crawler and a green Pautzke Fire Shoepeg corn. We used downriggers and longlining with up to 1/2 oz weight. I used leaded line for a while. We trolled at 1 to 1.7mpg.
