6 of our RV's camped at Jack's Resort on the south end of the lake for a Memorial weekend round of Rainbow fishing. When the wind wasn't blowing out of the SE, and keeping our small boats off the water, the fishing was great. We were fishing various flatfish and wetflies with leaded dacron line and a long leader. The favorite flatfish color seemed to be black with silver sparkle or a green frog pattern. The favorite fly was a purple egg sucking leech. None of this year's plants were hitting; so all the fish were in the 12-16" range at 3/4 to 1-1/2 lbs. The public access area was full of day campers in tents, campers, motorhomes, and trailers and it looked like the majority were bank fishing with some success. The bite was on to the point we sometimes couldn't get the gear all the way out before a strike. Not all strikes were hooked and boated; but, that's the fun of fishing. We plan on going back for the October season and try our luck again.
