I got up early and fought traffic construction to make the long drive the Leavenworth and Eight mile lake. I figured it would be good fishing due to the time of year and the weather and it definitely was. I really wanted to catch a lake trout, which I've never caught before, but I didn't see any last weekend. In return I found large numbers of willing cutties many of good size. I brought my raft but some people had some luck from the shore too. I never saw so many people fishing at a mountain lake before. there were even a couple guys that packed in float tubes. It was a perfect day.
