Normally I fishing Diablo multiple times a year, but this was my only serious fishing day there this year. A year and a week ago there was lights out fishing but yesterday the bite was sporadic and they were biting weakly like perch. I would get occasional bites but most wouldn't get hooked and the ones that did get hooked got off after a few seconds. The best bite was between 4 and 440 when the mountains make dusk early. There were quite a few feeding then but not as many as a summer night. I think I landed 2 rainbows and a bull trout. I had a heavy fish on for a bit that came off and saw some big fish jump but the best part of the day was when I saw a beaver swimming across the lake. The scenery was fantastic though.
