Down to Lake Sammamish yesterday looking for those elusive cutthroat trout. Started fishing right at 9am and quit when we got to double digits, 10 fish at 3 pm. The lake had 6-8mph winds, not too bad if you trolled with the wind. Started just short of the water tester and as soon as the downrigger was set it was fish on. Nice 16 inch fatty for the first fish and within 10 minutes we had another one on. Looks like a great day. But alas, as fishing goes, it slowed down after that. We did have 6 fish by noon and then decided to troll from the water tester to the north end of the lake. In a couple hours we just had one drive by and one fish to the boat. We then traveled back to the water tester and fishing again picked up and we brought 3 more to the boat before we decided to head for the barn. Not much rain but pretty cool outside in the low 40's but any day on the lake is a great one. We caught fish on needlefish and lures and 20 feet or less down on the downrigger. Great day to be a fisherman and lucky are the fish that bite our hooks because we return them to the lake as our freezers are already full.
