It was the day after opening for the lowland lakes. 12 vehicles were in the parking lot. We were both fishing by 8am. We quit after 11:30am but it took a long time to get the boat on the trailer with people coming and going, as it is a small launch.

The water temperature is already 58 degrees. It was mostly cloudy and was breezy putting a chop on the water. We went .9 to 1.6mph. On the downriggers I went down to 35 feet and to just below the surface. I had 1/2oz weight on my longlined rod whereas my son had 1/4oz on his. We were using corn, fake maggots, and worms. My son used corn and worms, I used maggots and corn. We had 2 types of corn. One unscented and one with scent. The scented got more bites. We had bites but none in the boat.
