It's been a couple weeks since I hit up Sammamish. Was surprised to see warning signs at the launch. Apparently they sprayed herbicide a few days ago.
It was tough out there. Bright blue sky. Little if any wind. Post spawn. I tried to force fishing the shallows first. Moved slowly out deeper switching to dropshot. In 3 hours, I had 2 bites and no hookup. I thought I was going to skunk completely with 0 fish. If that happened I may have sold the boat LOL. Fortunately moving to the opposite side of the lake produced several bites. 1st fish landed was a rock bass! Not quite what I swam looking for but no skunk at least. Can't believe it, not even a perch either. Anyways shortly after, landed a small and slender largie! About 14". Soon after that, landed a small chunky smallie, about 14" too. I had a decent smallie smash my jerkbait in the shallows along this stretch but no hookup. All hookups on dropshot only.
By now, its obvious it's summertime bc the lake was getting pretty busy and crowded.
So got the bass Trifeca today but that's the only thing to brag about.
