Water at the shoreline was pretty warm at 7am. Saw some nice ones breaking the surface but they were further out toward the center of the lake. Son and I used all sorts of bait...worms, powerbait in a variety of colors, but what they wanted was rainbow color. Past trips they were hitting green really well but they wouldn't even nibble it this time. I had a worm and rainbow on and got a good nipple and the worm was intact but powerbait was gone so switched to size 16 trebles and just rainbow powerbait with a 2 foot leader. I caught a nice 14 inch rainbow and my son caught a 12 inch, then the bite completely died off once the sun was clear of the trees at about 10am. I caught some very dinky perch, bass, and pumpkinseed about 5 feet off shore just playing around. Even tried using pieces of the pumpkinseed as bait and nothing.
