I went to American lake for some spring trout fishing and was on the water just before 8. About 8:10 I got a bite on my spoon which was behind a flasher and about 10-20 feet down. It was a big beautiful rainbow which was a nice surprise. I got a few more small bites but that was the only fish on and I didn't see anyone else catch anything either. There were about 5 or so other boats on the water. The water was around 50 degrees. I always have a hard time finding fish in this lake but I got lucky this time.
