Decided to work Silver Lake for a mixed bag of Bows & Browns. Lake was packed
as expected on a Memorial Day Weekend. Bait of choice was a rainbow power
bait with three ft. of leader to a #6 red octopus hook with a gold hook
loop. Third cast landed a fat 13" which came of the lake bottom at 20 ft.
and launched out of the water. Caught four more within a 2 hr. period.
Winds started chopping up the water then subsided after about an hour. Then
around 2 in the afternoon went with a hole night crawler with same rigging as
before about the fourth cast "slam" picked up pole to respond & retrieve &
missed. I was robbed whole. Then about no more then three minutes later ,the
guy to the right of me has something almost pull the pole out of his hand.
After about a five minute battle and an assist with the net the guy lands a
7lb. 28" brown. Was a beauty for all to see.
