Struck out on a bright and cool day. There was a wind out of the west that gave me fits launching my canoe from the launch, but after crossing the lake, I was in the calm. I had both my fly rod and my UL rod with me. I used the UL mostly, as it seemed that deep would be the ticket. I fished all sorts of Mepps spinners, rooster tails, and spoons, but had nothing like a hit either along the shoreline, or out in deeper water. I also trolled both spinners and spoons and a weighted wooly bugger, to no avail. I know the fish are there, but I would say the bright high front skies beat me to any chance of hooking one. Still it was a beautiful morning on the lake, and I it will probably be my home lake for 2001, as I would like to figure this one out. See you there.
