Well, Got to the Lake at 1400. Whether was nice, Mid 70's Slight wind. Unloaded the boat, Loaded the Cub Scouts from our pack and set sail (so to speak). Three hours later and after using everything in my tackle box as bait including an old cigarette butt I found floating in the corner of the boat, I decided it was time to go back (Besides, I had to pee really bad) Just than, One of the scouts started to yell something, Of course it had to finally be a fish on, FINALLY! Well, what I saw was the biggest rats nest on a spool that I have ever seen, with no fish. After working the mess for a while, I glanced up and saw that I was within 4 feet of shore, so I kicked the trolling motor in reverse (yes, it was on) and watched "MY LINE" go round and round in the prop! As I'm suddenly scrambling to fix my mess, fix his mess and get away from shore, Another scout starts screaming at the top of his lungs. I quickly glanced over a saw a large hook in a small finger and knew, "that had to hurt more then my bladder". I quickly had to decide what order to put things into. So I grabbed the finger (his), and with "much" resistance and several tugs the hook came out. Of course the screaming increased greatly to the point where it sounded like a air raid siren. I then decided to forget the motor (I really had to pee) and I grabbed the oars And attempted to row in a semi straight, uncramped position which is really impossible to do. It was a long trip back that seemed to take hours and of course now there is a head wind to deal with. Its been a week and a half now and a haven't fixed the motor or spool, and haven't even looked at the boat, but boy does my bladder feel better!
