Ah yes, good ole'Lake Fenwick. Or, Lake Finicky as I call it. Even when stocked to capacity it's easy to get skunked. I've heard this lake has some nice holdovers, but have lately given up hope since a few otters have been hanging around. Well, here a couple of weeks ago I'm hanging a single chartreuse Power Egg off the bottom with approx. 5 ft. of leader. BAM! No winter time nibbling here...this one hit hard. I cranked like crazy and this one tugged like crazy. Flopped him up on the shore and hollered like Rocky at the top of the stairs. No trophy. but a beautiful fat 16 inch rainbow. Had beautiful colors and markings...picture perfect....just a BEAUTIFUL fish. ....great eating too! Oh yes, I know there have been larger fish come out of Fenwick...but this was the largest I've seen...and the most beautiful. Yes, once those stockers all get fished out....there is hope at Fenwick.
