I am usually a trout fisherman, but the past few weeks I have done a little bass fishing. My sister lives on steel lake so I thought I would give it a try. Anyway, I fished just before dark by some lily pads with a spinnerbait and caught 3 little ones about ten inches and then WHAM! I HOOKED INTO THE BIGGEST BASS I HAD EVER CAUGHT. It took a while to bring him in, since I don't really know how to properly fight a bass. (used to trout) I finally got him into the boat and he was pretty big. He was almost 19 inches and a fat 5 pounds. I don't usually catch big fish like this here and I fish steel lake a lot. I guess that's what made it so cool. Not bad for a beginner. Oh yeah, the trout fishing here sucks big time!! Fish it only in May and June.
