We hit the water about 7:00 AM the water temperature was about 49 degrees. We saw a number of fish rising and bait fish jumping in the Leshi/Madronna area. We marked a number of fish at about 30' and casted a bit to see if we could hook up with a bass or two with no luck. We began trolling about 8:30 north toward Madison Park and I hooked an 18" rainbow using a 3" gold/black Rapala in about 30 feet of water at 8:45.
We continued to mark fish as shallow as 12 feet but could not get another hook up the rest of the day. One note of interest is that the water temperature climbed as high as 57 degrees. We quit fishing about 2:00 PM.
