Working grave shift now so have a opportunity to slip the boat in
the water at Black lake being only a couple miles from home. On the
water at o700, weather was going to be a nice day, the water temp
was 61, a bit of wind and sun rising. Went down the west side about
half way and started for a early bass in the lily pads. In the past
I have only been able to locate and catch a few smaller ones but
probably my 20th cast way back into the pads the water exploded and
I had a nice one on and a good fight to bring it out of the pads, a
little bit of time and luck I had a nice 3.5 largemouth bass. The
luck was on my side this morning I thought because in the next 20
minutes I had 2 more in the boat, one almost 4 and the other a bit
under 2. All released back for another morning of fishing.
A thought now is to get some perch for the frying pan, My wife and I
love a meal of perch. After a bit of searching and dropping the old
mini jig in the water many many times I finally found a couple small
perch on the east side near the docks. I had a lot of activity on the
locator so kept casting in the local area and after about 1 hour I
had six perch to take home. Had fresh perch for supper that evening
and the wife was happy and says I need to go again soon.
A quite day of
Fishing is good
medicine.
