- Fishing buddy, Steve Berg and I launched my Bass Tracker onto
Mason Lake in the early AM. The lake was smooth as a mirror as we started casting our floating Rapalas. I hooked and released a nice chunky 12 1/2 inch largemouth and Steve hooked a fish that looked a littler larger but it decided to release itself before being hoisted over the gunwale. The wind came up making it difficult to fish top water lures so we started casting jigs and worms. Got some hits on the worms but no hookups. We decided that
the hits were from yellow perch so we anchored up and fish for perch as we listened to the Mariners beat up on Chicago on the radio. We caught about 25 perch with a few of them really jumbos at a very chunky 12 inches. No other boats on this big beautiful lake on this nice sunny, warm fall day.
