The fishing was good during mayfly hatch in afternoon. Some damsel action early in the morning, but light. Caught fish mostly on midges in the afternoon. Trolled a leech at nite a few times and did alright. The fish ranged from 2 -4 lbs. The camp is becoming very crowded and it's not like the old days. Some very inconsiderate people brought their boom box and fireworks. I usually go to Chopaka in hopes of getting away from these nuisances. Since there is no resident ranger on site, I suggested to the Orville DNR office that a locked message box be installed at the entrance so messages can be left for the ranger who comes around on a random basis. I think this would be a good way to get law enforcement to talk to these unwanted visitors without them shooting you. The DNR says they like this idea, and if you do too, please write and ask them to do it.
