Fished this small lake on a Monday, hoping the opening day crowds would be thinned out a bit, fished for trout from 8am-2pm. There were only a couple other boats on the water, and fish surfacing all over the place, good odds! My girlfriend and I started out trolling with pop gear and worms. We each had a few light hits, and good strikes were only triggered, by stopping the trolling motor when the light taps occurred. At the west end of the lake, I began casting a gold "Kastmaster", and hit fish immediately! I continued casting until I had three healthy stockers in the livewell. Trolling picked up and my gal caught four in two laps. Boat traffic also picked up, and "someone" was getting tired, so we motored back to the west end, where I again started casting the lure. On my third cast I was treated to an attack by a 20" 2lb rainbow, who just to make it interesting, jumped about 3 feet straight in the air!!! After too brief of a fight he was in the net! NOTE: Parking is very limited, and launch is tough for trailers.
