Fished spanaway with a friend from 5:00 pm till dark first hour was uneventful until another bass boat pulled up next to ours and ask if we'd take some pitchers for him he pulled a 5+ lb smallie and 2.5 lg mouth from his live well, and he said he lost a giant lg mouth as well. After the pictures he went to release the fish near the catch sites. Since that size of smallie is what I've been after I asked him what he was using and about an 1/2 hour later I gave up on the crankbait and switched to what he'd said( sorry I can't say since the guy with the fish was nice enough to tell us )on the first cast I got a good hit but it was only a rockbass a good size one though then about three cast later right off the top of a submerged log bam another fish this time it was a nice smallie just under 3lbs it sure felt good since that was my first one out of this lake the water temp was 63 degree with a lot of algae. one more thing for you trout fishermen they just stocked the lake and the trollers were limiting.
