Spanaway has pretty good fishing right now. I had limited luck personally as I only had one powerbait rig with me and the fat 14" 'bow broke it on my 1st bite (I was reaching for the net). Since my only leader material was 2 lbs test, this began a long chain of Hit, Fight, Break, Say Foul words, re-tie. The claim at the boat launch is that the lake was recently stocked with 2+ lbs fish. The trout seem to like the bait at 3-5 feet from bottom at about depths of 15-20 feet. Popular baits are power eggs (orange), rainbow colored, green and pink lemonade powerbaits. The hot spot of the moment seems to be the south western side of the lake near the slide. Note: because of the light show, the park is asking us to depart at 4pm.
