Since Chain Lakes didn't appear to have public access anymore we decide to try out Horseshoe. It was a little windy when we arrived at about 11:45am. Since I was planning on bass fishing at Chain I didn't have my fly pole with me. We trolled using an assortment of lures, flies, and worms with our spinning rods. I didn't catch anything but the mother-in-law caught four smaller rainbows which she released. We did happen to see a young moose from about 30 feet away. We made sure to give him a wide berth as he swam across the cove in search of food. Wasn't very many other boaters out there but as soon as we rowed to the north end of the lake after launching the wind kicked up making rowing somewhat of a challenge. Made me with I had a good trolling motor, I'm going to be paying for this trip all week with sore muscles.
