Enjoyed another peaceful day of fishing at Battleground Lake. Thought the day was going to rainy but turned out to be half way decent. After trolling rapalas for about an hour and a half and only catching about a dozen of trout that were around 6 to8 inches I decided to try still fishing . I was using worm for bait with one large split shot about 2 feet above the hook , casting out
only as far away as it was deep and letting it sink for a few seconds and slowly retrieving it,very slowly. My wife was jigging a crippled herring, that wasn't very productive so she tied on a hook to the end of her line with one large splitshot and pulled out these rubber worms, they were brown with an orange tail she proceeded to cast this god awful looking thing and was catching fish
every 4 or 5 casts .I proceeded to use my worms I ended catching a nice chrome bright trout that was 20 inches long.My friend that was with us switched from real worm to rubber worm and was catching as many fish as my wife,I soon switched to the rubber worm,we couldnt keep the fish off our hooks. I guess it goes to show you that if what your using isn't productive try something else no matter how ridiculous it seems it just might work or sometimes you just have to listen to your wife.
