I just had to tell you folks about my day fishing. I bought me a 9' raft a bit on the flimsy side and took everything but the kitchen sink to Clear Lake in Pierce County. I didn't get on the lake as early as I wanted but made it about 10 am. There was a couple boats out. I have an elect. motor which took me to the other side and there I sat. Nothing. I trolled. Nothing. I casted and reeled. Nothing. I did see a small fish jump. Not in my boat, however. So about 1pm I decided there was too much skiing and waves so I started in, planning to go to Ohop. On the way in, my battery terminal heated up (bad connection) and melted a hole in my raft. Sounded like I had a rattle snake in the boat with me. I stuck my finger over the hole and prayed my way in. I met a man at the ramp just coming in, also with nothing. He said a friend of his limited out that morning. Mental note: get up earlier! Well, with my raft 1/2 inflated & no patch kit, it was time to go home. On arriving at the house, I saw my wife wasn't home so I loaded up my 14' runabout and headed for the sound. I put in at the Narrows boat launch and was fishing for salmon by 3:30pm. I was just out from the marina and I hooked a little dog fish. OK, so that's how they want to play, eh? I shut off the motor and drifted to the bridge bouncing a herring off the bottom. By 8 pm I had caught another shark, this one being over 2' ( what a fight!) and a left eyed flounder about 13". I also caught a Cabazon, I think, and a small Octopus. What a fun time! Tonight we have Sweet & Sour Shark, Yum!
