Went in search of some early spring Walleye. it was 45 degrees out and the boating was great, trolled for 4 hours with only one bite on a bottom walker and wedding ring, nothing at all on the downriggers and rapalas that have been so effective before. Quit trolling and went over by the old fort and a few gravel bars that I know in the area to try to find the Walleye, but none...I finally got a bite on a chartreuse foxy jig tipped with a nightcrawler- I thought it was a fluke, I reeled in a 18.5" rainbow in full spawning colors. About 15 minutes later, I got another, this one was 23" and really looked like a Kamaloop like you see out of Pend Oreille in Idaho. Good day on the lake.
