Headed over to Coffee Pot after an unsuccessful trip to Upper Twin. I hoped, and fully expected, that Coffee Pot would yield results akin to Amber Lake in Spokane County. After all, the temps were to hit mid 50s under partly cloudy skies, and in past years I've had nearly identical results on these two lakes. In fact, I rarely mention one without talking about the other. Amber has been on fire lately!!! Lots of folks on "The Pot" today. Wind was constant and cold. Water temp 38 degrees. Fished blood worms and other chironimid patterns under a strike indicator. In 3 hours I managed 7-8 takes with 3 fish landed. 2 fish were about 12" and 1 one was 17". Not bad, I suppose, but not nearly as much action as Amber, which has spoiled me!! Will return to Coffee Pot in 2-3 weeks when water is warmer, hatches are more prolific and fish are more active. P.S. Kudos to those of you in the float tubes....you are tough characters! I hope you caught lots of fish, you surely earned them!!
