Got to lake around noon thirty. My son and I got in our little row boat and rowed to the island in the middle. We anchored on the south side where there was no wind. I dropped down powerbait hoping to catch the first fish. I rigged him up with a BIG BOBBER and a nightcrawler. Bout a half hour into that and his Buoy of a bobber went under. I dropped my lunch and gave it a tug. Fish on. He fought it for a few minutes and then I had to take over because his line got tangled with mine. A nice triploid, about 1 1/2 pounds. After that it slowed until about 5pm when we were down to our last worm and 50 yards from the boat launch. Finally fish on my pole. Alot more of a fight. After tiring him out another nice 2 lb. Triploid. Not bad for our first trip. Everyone else on the lake had nothing. I guess it's beginners luck today!!
