It wasn't for lack of trying and the "1" rating doesn't reflect the company nor the day on the water. But the fishing at lower Hampton was poor today. Fished with my son James, John Kruse, and his son David. The weather started out cool - 36 degrees but by the time we started fishing at 10:30am it was mid 40s. Over the next four hours the sun came out and the coats went off. As for the fish, well, you'd think with the sun hitting the water and the bugs flying around that the fish would turn on, but it was not to be. I had one hard strike on a green leech pattern which gave me hope, but then, nothing. My son's casting of a spoon did no better. Ditto on John's boat. But hey, it was a great day on the water and it's aways a pleasure to share my favorite pasttime with friends. And it was long over-due to go out fishing with John and his son. So I'd rate that part of the day a "5".
