3 of us fished from shore around Crow Butte State Park. The park is nice, but the camping fees ($25, even for a tent) seem steep. We each caught one 2-3 lb bass (2 smallmouth, 1 largemouth) in a day and half of fishing. The water still might be a little cool and a large cold-front moved through on Friday night which probably didn't help.
We threw everything at them and couldn't muster consitent bites. All fish came on crankbaits. Other people there also did very poorly.

I had a strange conversation with a fellow camper that went like this:

Camper: How did you do yesterday?
Me: So-so, we caught 3 bass all day, 1 largemouth, 2 smallmouth.
Camper: Did you keep the largemouth?
Me: No, we let them all go.
Camper: Huh, you should have kept the largemouth, they are getting rare around here.

Hmmmmm.....
