Weather partly cloudy, mid 50's, water surface temp up to 47 degrees. Tough fishing today for most everyone I encountered. Surface was nearly flat as glass due to lack of wind. Also lots of direct sunlight that hampered efforts early (I didn't stay late into the afternoon). Managed 6 fish on chironimid patterns and missed/lost a dozen or so in 4 hours of fishing. Most fish just were not holding. Word is that Amber is best now in the P.M. Highlight of this trip was my first Amber triploid which measured 24" and was as fat as a football (literally!!). Most fish still being caught on smaller patterns. Lots of refusals on size 12s and larger.
