This is prime time in the Lake Chelan area. The Mackinaw bite has been excellent over the last week in spite of a mixed bag of weather. We had 17 lakers on Saturday (5/3/03) in a full day, 8 lakers on Sunday (5/4/03) in a half day and 9 lakers on Tuesday in 3 hours. All the fish came from Rocky Point downlake and were between 2 and 5 pounds. The kokanee are in at Lakeside on Lake Chelan and the regulars have been doing pretty well most of the time. In addition, fishing has continued to be productive at Wapato Lake, Roses Lake and Antilon Lake, with Roses and Wapato kicking out limits of rainbows mostly 10 to 12 inches with some holdovers and Antilon producing browns mostly 10 to 12 inches with some larger holdovers.
