Ahhhhh, a gorgeous morning for the opener - sunny and warm, a morning mist on the water, a Bald Eagle watching over us, and a few risers. Only a handful of boats from dawn to 830, most people trolling gear, or pulling spinners. Not many hooked, or brought to boat, that I saw.
I used a 6wt sinking line and some variations on woolie buggers, bead head nymphs etc. After an hour or so with no solid takes, I got a nice 18" bow that inhaled a bead-head attractor fly creation of mine.
It was a real nice size, but I don't think it was a triploid, as all the appropriate plumbing seemed intact, but then I was not really paying too much attention.
A holdover maybe? It had a healed scar on the belly, almost like a propeller cut (?) so I'm not sure it was a recent plant. Dunno.
