I have been up there a dozen times, everyone is correct you have to use their boats their everything, but its only $10 bucks not to bad and the staff is very nice. The main lake is really pretty, always get a full stringer.
The fish can be picky but if you dont mind rowing (no motors of any kind) you can troll a Panther Martin and I would be suprised if you dont do well. Well one day I decided to fish the (other lake), you can hike a short distance and fish from the shore if you can find any shore (steep banks and alot of trees) but I had talked to a few people and they said you can make it in a boat useing the small stream that connects the lakes. So being the adventures type thats all I needed, To my suprise and after you get over the first of (3) beaver dams and the swamp you can make it.
The secound lake is wonderful no one there exept fools like me, so I must have been the only fool. The fish are fat and healthy it is a single barbles hook no bait release only blah blah blah but fun never the less. So the first lake is for filling up the freezer the second lake is for filling up the camera. If you dont mind the mud the blood and the spilled beer I would suggest you give it a try just wear some shoes you dont mind getting wet you do have to get out of the row boat a few times to get through.
Oh yeah-- the stream is on the south end of the top lake, I spent a good hour trying to head north out of the top lake before I figured it out :(
