Fished lake Ki after work tonight. Trout were rising everywhere, there were plenty of folks fishing for them too!! I was scoping out the bass, this is a great time to see Giants cruising the shallows and hanging around the docks, although they are very wary right now, it is still alot of fun! The folks that live on this lake are very polite about telling you if there are any under their docks as well, although they do require you to promise catch and release if they tell you! Cool! I saw about fifteen bass all together, missed two strikes, in water this clear it's tough when they are spooky. As the sun sank behind the trees I decided to try for some of the many surfacing trout, I tied on a gold Kastmaster, and began casting at the rising fish. I caught about seven in fifteen minutes, missed about 10 strikes as it got darker, even kept one of the fat little buggers for the old fry pan. All in all, I would say a typical visit to Lake Ki in May, very pleasant!
