I arrived at Lake Ki at 9 am. About 35 boats on the lake, mainly fishing the north end. I trolled a green Dick Nite Spoon behind a long leader, swivel, and one small split shot. First fish in the boat at 9:05 am. Then I worked for almost three hours to harvest four more fish. The last four were taken trolling a flash lite by Mack’s Lures followed by a Mack’s wedding ring w/rainbow power bait nugget. There were lots of fish jumping and folks were taking them sporadically both trolling and bait fishing. I had numerous strikes on the Mack’s setup but these fish are mouthing the offering so hooking them was a challenge. I watched two guys in a boat trolling what looked like a small silver flasher followed by some sort of lure. I’m guessing a triple teaser or similar spoon. They both had strike after strike and lost lots of fish, but also successfully landed several while I was there. There are clearly a lot of fish in this lake but hooking them was a different matter. Water temp was 58.8 degrees Fahrenheit and air temp was 52 degrees. It was overcast with on and off showers. Sonar showed large numbers of fish from about 20 feet of water and deeper. Good fishing.
