My 5-year-old son and I spent this gorgeous spring afternoon trolling mostly the far end of the lake, away from the park. Action has been very good at Pine Lake since the big stocking and today was no exception. We landed about 8 decent stockers (kept 2 for our elderly neighbor) running flatfish and various rapala patterns at about 4 feet down. I hooked into a real whopper in the late afternoon, and played it for a good couple of minutes before my leader (and heart) broke. Perhaps one the larger browns that are caught on occasion at Pine Lake? Felt like a solid 5-pound fish. Everyone I saw out on the water and on the pier was catching fish and having a great time. Pine Lake is a very family friendly lake, and perfect for taking the kids.
This is the time of year to fish this nice little lake, and I plan to visit one more time soon in the early AM for one more crack at the big one that got away...
