Fishing partner and fellow writer Bob J. and I hit Phillips lake about 11:00 am. I was late as I blew a trailer tire on the way and had to run back into town to buy a new tire and wheel. Always look at the trailer tires before leaving home guys and check the tire pressure often. It will save you $55 that I got to spend for not doing it. The boat ramp had been repaired so it was a lot smoother to launch and reload the boats on as the old ramp was so rough you could bend a trailer frame using it. I know, it happened to me last year. We only had time to fish for about 3 hour and between us (we were having a mini derby) we didn't catch a thing. We both had small followers but no big bites. I did see a 6,4 and 3 pound bass but they say me too and got lock-jaw and wouldn't even look at my offerings. All in all it was a great day to on the lake and to fish with Bob dispite the no luck on catching. I talked to one other boat load of fishermen and they had 7 big trout in the boat and a pair of older gentlemen fishing off a dock had what looked to be about a 20 incher they showed me. This is still a good lake to take a kid fishing on as the north end of the lake near the ramp is chaulk full of sunfish that a bobber and a worm work wonders on.
