Been fishing tapps for a few weeks now and fishing is finally starting to pick up. Water temp up to about 58F. Caught many smallmouth in 8-12' of water, fished soft plastics -SLOW- in natural colors. The highlight of the trip was this tiger caught under the big dock east side/tapps island. The fish wasn't measured but I estimate it was between 44-48" registered well over 20 lbs on my spring scale, a good fight on bass gear and 6lb test mono! The girth of this fish was amazing and I suspect Tapps could very soon hold a state record fish, if it doesn't already. I dont think WDFW is stocking any more of these in Tapps so it is now more important than ever to practice C&R with these sterile fish.
